Just wanted to share my thoughts on the three new Metallica tracks to hit the earwaves lately.  Of the three (Cyanid, My Apocolypse, and The Day That Never Comes), I have to say I’m completely sold.  James’ voice isn’t the same as it used to be (what with “blowing it out” not too long ago), but he still has that unique Metallica vocalism style that’s worked so well throughout the years.  My favorite of the three is The Day That Never Comes (even with all the controversy), and I’m very excited for the album to debut.

I’m also thrilled to see them embracing non-traditional distribution mechanisms.  They’ve been releasing tons of related material (and the new tracks) to advance members of their Mission Metallica service.  Very exciting, and I’m looking forward to the album’s release.
