Looks like I’ll be working through the weekend.
Even though I’m working through the weekend, at least it’s interesting. So it could be worse.
Going between Rails, iPhone, and PHP. It’s one of those days….
I managed to give myself a papercut on my index finger, and right where I use the little scroll ball on my Apple mouse.
Ugh, up late working through employment law for a class I’m taking. Very interesting, but exhausting.
If you’re using #safari4, you may want links that would open a new window to instead open a new tab. Here’s how: http://bit.ly/zGObf

Really liking the new Safari, especially the new developer tools. I’ll be trying it out throughout the day. #safari4
On my way over to the post office. I like having it next door to my office.

Iterating on an estimate for an interesting looking local app. Hoping to actually do some work today though.
Recession encouraging states to drop Blue Laws? How does adding an extra day add equal more sales? http://bit.ly/xKL9K
I’ve been using ActiveResource quite a bit lately, both for external data and communicating between my own apps.
Having too much fun finding Simpsons quotes for MOTD messages for various servers.

Watch The Bourne Ultimatum last night. Having not watched any of the others, I must have missed something…
Oh great. The cat ate through my mini displayport -> dvi adapter for my macbook.

Not fun being woken up at 5:30 in the morning to fix a couple of servers that stopped working. Ugh.

Upgrading a wordpress blog. Seems like the process should be simplified.
Just adopted a cat (named Maestro). He’s very affectionate. http://twitpic.com/1f2lv

RT @railsconf We had a glitch in our system accepting RailsConf proposals and acccidently accepted all of them. Please disregard…
So far, very happy switching from daemon_generator to *nix cron for a scheduling background tasks. Should have done this a while ago.
hehe, Steve Wozniak on Dancing with the Stars.
While watching the news, they had a screenshot of a Firefox window: one tab was for Friday Night Lights on Hulu. Close tabs when filming!
We’ve adopted a cat! He’ll be coming home with us Monday night.
Chinese food for dinner is just fine by me.

Just rewrote some automated rails code. No longer using daemon_generator and instead using rake tasks via cron. Hopefully more reliable.
My new preamp just came in today. Hopefully I can now plug my studio mic in directly to my Mac and get good quality sound.
Bah, updating my iPhone to 2.2.1 caused an unknown error and I have to restore. Which takes forever. Annoying.
It’s time: switching from daemon_generator to something cron-based

Editing another screencast now. I’ve almost got it down to a science at this point.
MS Office for Mac is terrible with Spaces. And it’s been a known issue for a long time, but MS blames Apple for the problems. Ugh.
Lots to get done before the game tonight. Still not sure if everyone will be coming to my place or if I’m going out.
BTW, I’ve always hated how the NFL uses the law to require unaffiliated groups to call it “The Big Game”. Blech, call it what it is.
Just finished implementing Basecamp API access in a Rails app. I’m pretty happy with the results. Still needs more specs, but about there.
Seems like there’s some interesting history with Truvia, including an FDA ban linked to competition with NutraSweet. http://bit.ly/3OG
Had a coffee with Truvia in it instead of Splenda. I’m getting tired of these no-cal sweeteners. Sugar in the Raw is probably healthier.
