Working with the Basecamp API this weekend. I want to have this mini project with it done by Monday.
Writing a temporary script to automatically call my cell phone. So simple using ruby, asterisk and some clever hax0ring.

Couldn’t get the cars out of the driveway this morning. Half-inch thick sheet of ice makes for very little traction.

Hiccup with Tweetree this morning. Seems to be caused by something with Starling (layer between memcache and ruby). Still investigating.
RT @cwalcott Twitter: Firehose will be not be made public, available only to “small group of trusted partners” http://bit.ly/3zro
I’ve been having a lot of fun with the iWork ‘09 sharing. Been sharing docs back and forth all day today. Very nice.
I vote for http://tweetree.com for @mashable’s #twitapptues because it loads in links and content and helps me follow conversations!
iWork ‘09 share interface is beautiful, though it seems a little slow sending comments back and forth. But that’s why they’re in beta.
Checking out the new iWork. May buy it for the office.
Came into work this morning and my local mysql grant tables were messed up. Had to reset my dev mysql passwords. Weird…
Just found out they’re making a movie of The Informant, one of my favorite books: http://bit.ly/nmKhz
RT @howardlindzon The death of the quick flip http://bit.ly/x1Yb is a great read … I like the mini-bubble thesis

So there’s an open question in my mind of whether there was simply a mini-bubble where Google and Yahoo were buying startups as features in 2005 and 2006. But generally speaking, none of this has made money for the acquirers (who themselves are hurting now)
Taking my girlfriend to have her wisdom teeth out. Glad I’m not going through that again, though lots of ice cream for her this weekend.

Chipotle just opened down the street from my office, and they’re giving out free burritos today. I’m afraid to go there though due to lines.
Cool: ASIHTTPRequest as a layer above CFNetwork to get async uploads and progress indicators. Good for iPhone apps too. http://bit.ly/w49c
After getting completely frustrated with the new iMovie for editing a screencast, I went back to the old one: http://bit.ly/G4A8
Why is it such a pain in the neck to create screencasts? I dread each time I have to do one.
Ugh, yet more snow on the ground. Glad I don’t have to go anywhere today, but not looking forward to repeating all the shoveling I just did
Ran specs just before 12am & clock rolled over right when testing some dates. Lots of errors that fixed themselves by running again.
I’ve been working on an update to our invoice tracking system that’s going to save me at least 10 hours a month. Can’t wait to finish it.
Been experimenting with Prawn for the last couple days, and I’m really loving it. http://bit.ly/11J4k

Doing some iPhone dev work this morning, but hoping to spend some time in Rails. I want to refresh my memory on PDF generator plugins.
Cool to see YouTube videos inline in Tweetree on my iPhone. Tapping on one opens automatically in the YouTube player.
Finally found time to get a haircut. I’m now no longer sporting the Blagojevich look. It’s hard finding time when starting a business.
Having fun watching reactions to #macworld: http://bit.ly/13X6T
A mall where there are only several shops left is just sad. The sign in one: “Please stop asking what’s up with the mall.”
Doing a little rails hacking on this New Years day, then off to watch the Rose Bowl.
Looking forward to relaxing in RI this weekend. It’s been an incredibly stressful, exhilarating, fun week but I need to decompress.
